DENNIS FUNERAL DETAILS.
Tuesday 23 June at 12-40pm at south Essex Crematorium, Corbets Tey, Upminster Essex RM14 2UY. Because of Covid 19, only twenty five people can attend the funeral. The family and advisers found it very difficult selecting people other than the family, who should attend. It is no slant on anyone who has not been asked to attend. We could have filled Westminster Abbey with the amount of people who wanted to come. So friends are asked to pay their respects by standing on the park opposite Dennis' house. We will then form lines up the road Newmarket Way. Any flowers, please have them delivered to 19, Newmarket Way before 11am. on the day. Jackie said anyone wishing to make a donation, instead of flowers, can make it to www.sfh.org.uk-dennis lepine (St. Francis Hospice). Jackie also said wear a little something in claret and blue in honour of our friend. Cars will leave Dennis' at 12.10pm. Please can you make sure that you take any rubbish with you when you leave and please respect Jackie's neighbours. I would ask anyone attending, to observe social distancing, if possible can you please wear face coverings. In my time, I have been able to attend Bobby Moore's funeral, lead the march in Palermo and attend this funeral for my friend Dennis, I want people to look back, in years to come, and say II attended the send-off for Westham's greatest fan please be on the green by 11 -15am. Dennis house 8 min walk from Hornchurch station on the district line.Lets give dennis a fitting send off,and show why we are westham united.thanks to my friends for all your support.
On Twitter for the turnout for Denis today@gantshillhammer

This the wreath we sent on behalf of WHO message read
Rest In Peace Denis. A friend to all a gentleman and a West Ham legend. From all your friends at West Ham online

Re: DENNIS FUNERAL DETAILS.
Didn’t know the bloke, never met him. I sincerely wish I did/hadlon both counts.

You don’t get that many people turning up on your doorstep to sing Bubbles etc during lockdown if you weren’t such a massively respected figure.

Brought a tear to my eye watching all the clips. Not many will get the same sort of send off, because there’s sadly not many that can claim to be anywhere near as West Ham as Dennis clearly was.

Massive respect to every single person that was there to pay their respects.

Re: DENNIS FUNERAL DETAILS.
It is so good to read and see all the amazing reports. It sounds like the best was made of a bad situation.

I'm stuck here in Norway, so gutted I couldn't be there, but at 12.40pm, I went up on the roof of Oslo Konserthus and sang Bubbles, not giving a fuck about the looks I might have got from the builders on the roof next door.

In Africa and other cultures, the last funeral rite is after 40 days, when family and friends get together and share pictures and souvenirs of the deceased. This is supposed to be the part where it's all about rememberance and moving on after the grieving. That would, I believe, be on the 14th July. It might help you, Bill, if you visited Jackie and the kids once more on that day, for the last of the last rites.

Serious sunburn, but proud of the turnout today and well done for Bill rallying the fans and I hope it meant a lot to the family, who ultimately this was all for.

Guaranteed covid spread after it though, as the distancing and amount of handshakes was a disgrace, ha ha.
